55-3268 United States Army. Delivered 1st May 1956. Designated U-1A.

Allocated to the 14th Army Aviation Company, Fort Riley, KS.

Re-designated the 1st Aviation Company and moved to Fort Benning, GA, Aug-1956 until 1959.

To Redstone Arsenal, AL., as a test support aircraft Oct-1962 until Feb-1966.

Transferred to Fort Huachuca, AZ., again in the test support role In Feb 1966 until Mar-1968.

Army Aviation Brigade, Fort Rucker, AL., from Mr-1966 until Jul-1968.

Red River Army Depot, TX.,  for overhaul Jul-1968 and was then put into storage there.

EA-51 Ethiopian Army. based at Addis Ababa under a Military Assistance Program. Feb-1969.

Otter 114 was delivered to the United States Army on 1st May 1956 with serial 55-3268 (tail number 53268). It was allocated to the 14th Army Aviation Company, Fort Riley, Kansas. In August '56 the 14th was re-designated the 1st Aviation Company and moved to Fort Benning, Georgia. 53268 left the 1st Aviation Company in 1959 when it was re-assigned to the Redstone Arsenal, Alabama as a test support aircraft. It continued to fly from Redstone Arsenal until February 1966, when it was transferred to Fort Huachuca, Arizona still in the test support role. It flew from Fort Huachuca until March 1968, when it was transferred to the Army Aviation Brigade, Fort Rucker, Alabama. In July 1968 it arrived at the Red River Army Depot, Texas for overhaul and was then put into storage there.

In February 1969, 53268 was transferred to Ethiopia under a Military Assistance Program. It was operated by the Ethiopian Army with serial EA-51, based at Addis Ababa. The Otter crashed in Ethiopia and was a write off.
