 IM-1718 Indian Air Force. Delivered 24-Jan-1958.  Allocated to 41 Squadron (Otters) at Adampur, Jahlandar, Punjab.

Incident: In the Punjab, south of aircraft base. Actual location unknown. 18-Aug-1961. Flight Lieutenant (later Wing Commander) Prithpal Singh Bhachu force landed the aircraft in a field. Presumed engine failure. Undamaged airframe and engine repaired.

It was subsequently written off, details unfortunately unknown.

Written off

Otter 219 was delivered to the Indian Air Force on 24th January 1958 with serial IM-1718. After test flying at Downsview, it was packed into a crate and shipped to India, where it was re-assembled and entered service, assigned to 41 Squadron. Flight Lieutenant (later Wing Commander) Prithpal Singh Bhachu was serving with the squadron and recalls that he force landed the Otter on 18th August 1961 in a field in the Punjab, south of the squadron's then base at Adampur. The Otter was not damaged on that occasion and after repairs to the engine, it re-entered service. It was subsequently written off, details unfortunately unknown.
