Otter 227 was delivered to Aigle Azur Extreme Orient on 28th January 1958 registered F-BGJU. The Otter was transported in a crate to its new owners and re-assembled, based at Vientiane, Laos. Aigle Azur had taken delivery of three Otters (95, 96 and 120) during March/May 1956. Otter 95 F- BHEJ crashed at Vientiane in August 1956. Number 96 F-BHEK crashed at Sam Neua, Laos on 18th July 1957 and with the insurance proceeds from the crash, Aigle Azur purchased F-BGJU as a replacement. F-BHEL, the last of the original three, crashed at Sam Neua in April 1958, which left only F-BGJU in operation. It continued in service until written off in a crash at Saigon, South Vietnam on 21st September 1959, bringing Aigle Azur Otter operations to an end.
